The Maynard Cape: The New Normal

I don't know when things will go back to the way they were, if they ever will, and when people will be able to go to open houses again. It could be many months. But that doesn't mean work stops on the renovation house. The other night, after working at home all day, I dragged my sister to the house with me so she could vacuum while I finished grouting the upstairs bathroom. And then we hung curtain rods in bedrooms on the first floor. I'm not planning to stage the entire house. I plan to stage four of the bedrooms, living room, dining room. It just doesn't make sense to stage the entire house when I'll be doing it on my own (social distancing) and there won't be an open house. My plan is to stage enough of the rooms to give prospective (virtual) buyers an idea of how the house might look if they buy it. I'm hoping to be able to start staging this weekend, but I guess we'll see if it needs to be put off a bit so I can focus on other checklist items.

In the meantime, please enjoy the new railing and spindles (this used to be a wall and a door) that my father installed the other day.
