The Maynard Cape: Floor Tile Goes In

This is going to be a short post and I apologize, but I have had a dry, deep-in-my-lungs cough for the past 48 hours that has turned my spine into mush and given me a headache. January is kicking my ass.

Monday I got to the house before 8, which, if you know me, is crazy. I was at Home Depot by 6:30. It was me and a bunch of contractors. It was kind of refreshing actually, because no one was clogging up the aisles. AND two gentleman helped me load 6 sheets of backer board onto a cart, which was much appreciated. Then I spent the entire day installing the floor tile. Admittedly, yes, the tile looks amazing and I'm so glad I chose it. But also, it was such a pain to install. There was so much cutting, and while I managed not to get soaked by the tile saw nor lose an appendage, it was an arduous process. I feel proud that it turned out lovely, but I'm not sure I'll use a hexagon-shaped tile again in the future. Maybe for the right home. We'll see.
