The Chalet: A Trove of Treasures

So here's the story with The Chalet as told to me by my father. The Chalet was owned by a couple living down south and they were letting their son live there. He let the propane run out so the pipes froze and then burst and that costs a lot to fix so I'm guessing he abandoned the house. And all of his belongings.

Below are a small sample of items left behind. Stupidly, I did not take a picture of the chair I asked my mother to have reupholstered and refinished for me. But it was a pale greeny velvet material that had seen much better days.

My cousin has called dibs on this airplane. Look closely. It's made out of Schweeps cans.

I saw this antique sled when we did our very first walk-through of the house and pictured it hung over a fireplace in a rustic cabin in the woods.

This horseshoe is legit. It's hanging on a beam in the garage and I'm not moving it because it feels lucky. It also looks like it could crumble if I touch it. So I'm not going to.

Below is one of the dining room chairs. There are six, they are incredibly sturdy, but they need to be reupholstered. I'm trying to find a loving home for them but so far no luck. If no one wants them I might just end up trying to fix them up myself.

There were also plates, serving platters, a leather jacket, Elf on a Shelf, a sideboard that I was thinking I'd keep but now I'm wondering if I should trying and sell it to someone who'd appreciate an antique in their dining room (seeing as I don't currently have a dining room). So many treasures though. And since Olivia helped me out on Sunday she went home with a few treasures as well. It was only fair.
