If you have an 8-13 year old daughter then you may have purchased a copy of Girls' World magazine in recent months for her. They're on shelves in Barnes & Noble, Target, Wal-Mart, and some grocery stores. You may remember that I had a short story in the Spring issue and now, guess what? I was asked to write another short story for the Fall issue!
It was put on shelves on Columbus Day but lucky for me, a copy arrived in my mailbox three days earlier.
I wish Girls' World had existed when I was a pre-teen. I always managed to convince a family member to buy me a copy of Bop or Big Bopper and I had a subscription to Seventeen. But as a preteen I think all that was available to me was was Highlights (which, let's be honest, was only at the dentist's office and therefore not my favorite magazine because I associate it with teeth cleaning and drilling) and at such an age where you're easily influenced it's fantastic that there's a magazine for girls that promotes positive images and messages.
So pick up a copy and I hope you like the story!
Happy Reading!

So proud of you! Published yet again!
ReplyDeleteThis is awesome! I used to read American Girl magazine which had similar positive messages.
ReplyDeleteMarisa, I forgot about Americal Girl! I think I still have a copy of that from middle school because a friend of mine modeled and was on the cover!
