Girls' World Magazine

It's been a while since I've written. Apologies. I had a family member pass away, not unexpectedly, but heartbreaking all the same, and I stopped writing and baking. I'm still not baking but I'm slowly starting back on the writing track. Elliott Roux has lots of brunches and dates to go on (not to mention the family drama) so I've got to keep writing.

But on to good news! Months and months ago (I think it actually may have been almost two years ago) a friend sent me a message that a friend of hers was looking for writers. So she put us in contact and I sent two short stories along to the editor of Girls' World Magazine. And then I forgot about it because life got busy, as it usually does. And then this past winter I followed up (which might be the lesson in all this - always follow up on your work) and one of my stories had been chosen to be in the Spring/Summer issue of Girls' World!

My mother texted last week from Barnes & Noble asking how many copies I wanted. I told her I'd already bought one so she settled on just buying six copies. Typical motherly pride I suppose. I don't know what she's going to do with six copies of a middle school-age girls' magazine...

And if you're wondering, yes, I wrote about surfing because what's more summery than the beach? So if there is a middle school-age girl in your life (I think the target audience is age 8-13) go out and get a copy for her! You can find Girls' World in Barnes&Noble, Target, and some grocery stores (in their magazine aisle, not by the checkout).

And because I was feeling cheeky...

GLASSES ARE COOL, PEOPLE!

Happy Reading!

PS. Thank you to Molly for indulging me in a photo shoot. You're the best!
