Staging a Somerville Condo

First, I must apologize because I should have written this weeks ago. So, if you were waiting for these photos (you know who you are), here they are!

A Boston-based realtor reached out through a friend after seeing photos of The Harvard Ranch to see if I'd be interested in staging a 4bed/2bath condo in Somerville. I didn't even have to think about it. Why yes, yes I would very much like to. This condo is so spacious for Somerville. It's the second and third floors of a two-family, gets amazing light all day, and is walking distance to Davis Square or Porter Square. After a fresh paint job I couldn't wait to stage it.

So let's talk bar carts. I know they've become trendy in the past few years but they're great for hosting. And they don't have to be strictly booze-centric. If you're hosting a movie-night stock it up with serve-yourself popcorn and candy and extra blankets for guests. Stock it with board games and snacks. Or, you know, keep it classic and stock it with your favorite libations, cocktail napkins, and a shaker.

I put the bar cart in the dining room because it's a large room. I installed a 6-seat dining table but the room was big enough to put a larger table. Again, the room gets phenomenal light. The photos were all taken after 6pm (in September) without flash, to give you some perspective.

The kitchen is a space I would (as always) love to cook in. Not pictured, another swath of cabinets and counter space with the stainless sink, and then I also implemented a table and two chairs, but personally, I'd consider a moveable kitchen butcher block island.

When you come up the stairs from the front door, you walk right into the living room. It could easily fit a sectional but I went with a sofa, a bench, and two chairs. Again, the light in this room! If I'd had time I would have laid down on the couch and napped, but it was a full day's job so I didn't get to sit at all. But whoever buys this condo is going to have a wonderful home, perfect for Sunday afternoon snoozes.

And now you can see that refurbished coffee table in the wild! It's like a brand new piece of furniture. There's a good chance I will end up keeping it for my own use because I'm slightly obsessed with how it turned out.

Upstairs, all four bedrooms are decent sizes, with two of them being downright huge. So in those two I put queen mattresses but they could both fit kings.

In what I referred to as the teen room, I put a twin bed and this cute little desk nook.

The smallest room is my favorite. I made it into a toddler's room complete with a reading area, tons of blankets and pillows, and books.

In the master bedroom there are two walk-in closets, space for a king-size bed, dressers and armchairs. It's so roomy.

I didn't take pictures of the bathrooms, but both are spacious, one on each floor. As far as Somerville condos go, this one is spectacular in both location and size (and sunlight!). I hope whoever buys it hosts lots of gatherings with family and friends.
