Welcome to Graceland!

I'd like to welcome you to the next DaddyDaughterFlip... Graceland!!!

I first saw the listing for this house in November, before we'd sold Porchlandia, and I immediately and desperately wanted it. I don't know why, but I had it in my head that we HAD to do a Cape house next. This house was an estate sale, so while I don't know anything about the woman who once lived here, I do know that she loved Elvis, hence the name. In one of the upstairs bedrooms the wallpaper is Elvis, in the basement there's an Elvis light switch, in the master bedroom there was an Elvis lamp left behind. So I had to name it Graceland, there really was no other choice.

This was my first time buying an estate property, and so it's been a learning experience, and a trying one for this horribly impatient girl. But today is closing, and then tomorrow we'll be on record and then finally, FINALLY, I can put on my work boots and pink protective glasses and do some demo!

And like every other house, I already know that I'm going to have a lot of trouble letting go of this one when it sells. I want to live in it already and we haven't even started updating anything. Just you wait, because it's going to be stunning.

So here's hoping the weather warms up so the snow can melt and the flowers start to bloom! Later this week I'll post the first look at the inside of the house, in all its dated glory - faux brick, pink and purple rooms, it's a looker for sure.
