Plaid Decor (Is My Jam)

Untitled #12

So, I guess it's a relatively well-known fact among my friends and family that I love plaid. Love might actually not be a strong enough word. Back in grade school I loved it, though I kept my flannel-wearing preferences to home. And then as I got older I threw off any inch of caring and started wearing it with abandon. I don't know why I'm drawn to it. Perhaps it's my Scottish roots (there is nothing more prized in the dead of winter than my Campbell plaid, which both cats and Nemo have fought over for maximum warmth), or maybe it's just visually appealing, something about the precise, clean lines. I even happen to be wearing a red, white and blue plaid button-down as I type this. Last winter I bought a fleece-lined purple plaid shirt for a bestie and seriously considered keeping it (and I don't even like purple!). But I mean come on, it was plaid AND fleece-lined. The point is, I love it. I recently bought a new throw pillow because it was plaid (trust me, I did not need another pillow in my 375 sq.ft. apartment). You might be thinking, sheesh, girl's got a problem. Maybe. But there are worse problems to have. Like collecting Precious Memories figurines (no offense if that's your thing, although... it's a little weird). Regardless, if I were buying #Porchlandia for myself (cue the goodbye tears) you better believe I would deck the house out in plaid decor, starting with that LL.Bean wood-carrying bag smack dab in the middle of those items. I don't have a fireplace in my apartment but I might buy the bag anyways! Because plaid!
