NH Flip House - Living Room Design

Disclosure: I buy pretty much everything for my apartment at TJMaxx.Homegoods. They have so much variety and it changes all the time and everything feels like a steal because it's so darn cheap! In the past year alone I bought a distressed TV stand, a tufted storage bench for the bedroom, and another distressed shelving unit for all my jeans (yes, I have that many jeans). I am constantly drawn to the aisle stuffed full of throw pillows, wishing I had need for any of them. And last fall I found the softest, most amazing throw blanket (my cats will agree, it's like heaven in a throw) for lounging on the couch on cold Sundays. And I am always wishing my apartment was bigger so I could buy their bright, tufted chairs for my non-existent dining room. They really have amazing items. I'm slightly obsessed.

With the NH Flip House's living room in mind (don't forget those gorgeous wood floors), I put together a smattering of items that I would procure if I was designing the room. I wouldn't want to cover up the floors so I'd use a small rug and go with a soft color palette and textured items to brighten up the room on dark New England winter days and remind the owner that there's warmer days around the corner.

  1. You also wish you had room for giant mirrored elephant statues, no?
