Reviews

Last night I set up shop on my bed to write and then Beans climbed up on me and I could barely move my arms enough to type. When I pushed her off Bug hopped on. Also, I got distracted by a myriad of things online. So 850 words later I was not feeling very successful. But amazingly, I fell asleep quickly. Heyo!

I woke up this morning, checked my usual apps, email, etc. and saw a new review on Goodreads for Kissing Frogs.

"In her third novel, Ms. Blackburn has created something my literary appetite is desperately starved for--a contemporary work about the tortures of dating, the trials of the quarter life crisis, and the ever important role your friends play in your 20-something misadventures. The questions Elliott asks herself while paving her course through the streets of Boston mirror many of those I asked myself paving mine in Upstate New York. Most importantly, Blackburn captures the contrasting trivial and pivotal agony and ecstasy of having to continually redefine your relationships as a young adult, with both friends and family, as children must help their parents see them as more than such while also coming to terms with the realization their guardians are not without flaw. I love a good romance, but I've made no secret of my dislike of love triangle trends and flighty dialogues between characters. Yet, I still love a good Sandra Bullock moment. The refreshing spirit of romance alive in Kissing Frogs is both in finding the humor in dates gone wrong, and remembering those times you tried not to smile too hard when they went so right."

So, I hope you're having as delightful a morning and I'm having (minus the fact that my toes went numb on my walk into work - got to love Boston in winter).

Happy Reading!
