Cary's Summer Reading List

Hi, I'm Cary! I'm quite honored to be on Stephanie's blog. She's a lovely lady. Thank you for taking the time to read this post. I think it's super fun and I'm really excited about it! Summer is quickly approaching and I have a TON of reading I'd like to get done. These five books are the ones at the tip top of my list and I also picked these because I think some of them just feel like Summer. Happy reading! You can find me here:

The book I'm actually reading right now is Sarah Dessen's "The Moon and More" which I'm considering the beginning of my "Summer reading." I love Sarah Dessen, I've ready every single book she's written and I'm stoked to delve into this book more. I love how Sarah writes, she's able to talk about very real life topics in such a light and witty way. It also takes place in a beach town which is pretty perfect.

The next book I plan to read is "Lullaby"  which is the second book in the "Watersong" series by Amanda Hocking. The first book, "Wake" was absolutely amazing. I'm fascinated with anything and everything related to the sea. These books have a sole focus on love and family with a deeper sense of mystery and magic. I highly recommend beginning this series.

Keeping on with the life at sea theme, my third book is "Fins Are Forever" by Tera Lynn Childs. I read "Forgive My Fins" and thought it was the perfect mixture of fun and fierce.

I swear, I'm almost done with the mermaid theme, but what can I say? I love mermaids and what could remind you of Summer more than the sea? I read "Tempest Rising" by Tracy Deebs a REALLY long time ago and it's almost shameful how long it's taken me to get to the second book. I could not put down "Tempest Rising" so I'm hoping for the same with "Tempest Unleashed." Not only are there mermaids but the main character, Tempest is a surfer. It's perfection.

Alright, for my last book that I'm looking forward to this Summer... it goes to "City of Heavenly Fire" by Cassandra Clare. It comes out on May 27th. It's the farthest thing from a "Summer" theme but I'm obsessed with The Mortal Instruments and I'm really, really excited for it!!

I know, not all of these books are brand new or up and coming but they're just what I've had on my "to-read" list that I plan on conquering this Summer!

Xo, - Cary.
