Bookshelf: Past Reads

I was recently suggesting books to a friend who's about to embark on a month-long journey to Manila and then New Zealand. There's a lot of flight time in his future and so I was trying to remember books I've read in the past few years that really stuck with me. And so I figured I should maybe list some, even if I can't remember them enough to write a detailed review. So here we go...

Marley & Me (John Grogan)
The Other Boleyn Girl (Philipa Greggory - and soooo much better than the movie, which honestly was complete rubbish in comparison)
A Curious Incident of the Dog In the Nightime (Mark Haddon)
Three Weeks With My Brother (Nicholas Sparks - it's his only non-fiction book and my favorite)
1,000 White Women (Jim Fergus)
A Thousand Splendid Suns (Khaled Hosseini)
Casa Rosa (Francesca Marciano)
Pride & Prejudice (Jane Austen)
Girl With A Pearl Earring (Tracy Chevalier)
The Welsh Girl (Peter Ho Davies)
Kill Me (Stephen White)
Atonement (Ian McEwan)
Saturday (Ian McEwan)
Eat, Pray, Love (Elizabeth Gilbert)
The Beach House (James Patterson)
Suzanne's Diary For Nicholas (James Patterson)
P.S. I Love You (Cecelia Ahern)
Good Grief (Lolly Winston)
Shutter Island (Dennis Lehane -haven't watched the movie)
Moloka'i (Alan Brennert)
The Jane Austen Book Club (Karen Joy Fowler - is it wrong that I liked the movie more than the book?)
Good In Bed (Jennifer Weiner)
First Love (Adrienne Sharp)
My Horizontal Life - A Collection of One-Night Stands (Chelsea Handler)
Water For Elephants (Sara Gruen)
The Secret Life of Bees (Sue Monk Kidd)
Love In The Time Of Cholera (Gabriel Garcia Marquez)
The Reader (Bernhard Schlink)
Enemy Women (Paulette Jiles)
Nineteen Minutes (Jodi Picoult)
Salem Falls (Jodie Picoult)
The Daily Coyote: A Story of Love, Survival and Trust in the Wilds of Wyoming (Shreve Stockton)
Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason (Helen Fielding)
When You Are Engulfed In Flames (David Sedaris)
Summer Sisters (Judy Blume)
Beach Music (Pat Conroy)
The Time Traveller's Wife (Audrey Niffenegger)
The Memory Keeper's Daughter (Kim Edwards)
The Lovely Bones (Alice Sebold)

I'm sure there are more but that's all I can think of right now. They are all worth taking a peak at. Enjoy!
